Michigan is not sinking, it has sunk. We are not headed down a path to unemployment, we are unemployed. In fact, Michigan is just a preview of what the rest of the nation will soon experience.
 
The solution is simple, yes that's right simple; it's called fair trade, something we had for over 200 years. I find it peculiar that when the media or politicians talk about the economy they never talk about trade policies or our currency. Instead they talk about how the consumer is to blame for taking bad loans, and even for not spending enough money buying goods (as if to indicate that saving money is bad). They then launch into talking about how the inflation rate is being kept at bay by the Federal Reserve Bank. That must be why the cost of everything from gas to postage stamps has increased at an alarming rate. Pull out your old receipts from just 5 years ago and look.
 
We hear all about how to fix the economy from the President, the Senate and the Congress, but our elected officials never tell us the real reason why we are headed for recession. We all know that two of the major factors in our plummeting economy are unfair trade and a failed monetary system. We need fair trade and sound money.
 
As your elected representative from the 11th District I will fight to abolish NAFTA and other anti-union trade polices. I will also challenge the existence and legality of the Federal Reserve Bank and the IRS and work to abolish them.

I grew up with the understanding that when this nation abolished the draft it was a promise to those who then came forth and volunteered that we would never again throw away the lives of our brave young patriots on needless wars for profit based on lies and deception. Instead today we are seeing our nations non-expendable resources expended so that private corporations can profit.
 
After all the debating back and forth over the war in Iraq you have to stop and ask: How can invading a nation, half way around the world, that had no Navy and no real Air Force, make you any safer? Meanwhile, anyone who wishes can come right across our own border unchecked.
 
We ask our troops to carry out missions that have no purpose other than to survive deployment after deployment. You cannot ask your troops to die day after day to achieve nothing. Our troops conduct what is called "movement to contact" (i.e. go out and patrol until the enemy attacks you, and then react). If you remember that is the exact same tactic that we used in Vietnam. This tactic is used to assess enemy strength and location, not to fight a winning war!
 
The truth is that this war has only two paths to victory:
1. Draft 3 million young men and invade, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Jordan, and Egypt while losing about 2 million men during a 40 year war or
2. Deal with the new terrorists like we did with the last group of terrorists, the KKK.
We beat the KKK by eliminating the support it had in the community. Fact: no organization can exist effectively without the support of society.
 
After being elected I will travel to Iraq immediately and will visit EVERY camp and outpost. I will do this in order to allow the troops to file a Redress of Grievances per (10 U.S.C. 1034 (reference (e)) . This will give the troops hope, and allow me to begin forcing members of Congress to vote for a reasonable withdraw from Iraq and the many other nations we currently occupy.
